RT45 Walkie Talkies Rechargeable Product

The Retevis RT45 is a fully FCC certified, ready to use out of the box FRS walkie-talkie with all the basic features one would expect from a simple consumer-level two-way radio. One feature that is missing badly is the NOAA weather channel feature, which is a MUST for emergency situations. On the positive side, the Dual-Monitor feature, which allows the user to receive and then transmit on a second channel in addition to the set main channel is a great feature! By looks and appearance, they feel very similar to the Motorola Talkabout lineup, but with fewer features and much lower prices.

When we tested them out in New York City under various conditions, they have performed very nicely. On a straight avenue, we could easily reach half a mile with clear to understand transmissions. Amongst large buildings the range, as it was expected, dropped to only a few hundred yards, but that was no surprise or disappointment in anyways. The basic beep is really irritating and it can't be turned off. Pricewise we feel they are a bit overpriced, considering the wide range of competitors offering similar radios for less, many of them with the NOAA weather channels included! So, overall the Revetis
RT45 WalkieTalkie is a pretty good basic radio that requires NO special permit or license of any sort. The basic built quality is good, but not outstanding. So in the end with all my final feelings and impressions combined, we give it a STRONG 3 Star Ratings.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If used with the RT27 model, which has a factory preset "privacy codes" (interference eliminator) installed, the RT45 must have the sub-channels set as follows: Channels 1-7 and 15-22, set the sub-channel to 16, and for Channels 8-14, set the sub-Channel to 41. If not set in the walkies, then the RT27 will NOT hear the RT45!

Retevis RT45 is a rechargeable walkie talkie that is rechargeable via a USB cable. The walkie talkie comes with 6x 650mAh AA batteries, which can be replaced with AA batteries with a higher capacity for a longer operating time, in case of emergency you can also replace the batteries with non-rechargeable AA batteries (DO NOT use the USB charging function if there is not one). -rechargeable batteries are installed).

The walkie talkie has a range of 1 to 1.5 kilometers, depending on the terrain.

Retevis RT45 has standard 8 PMR channels (via PMR446 expandable to 16 channels, press MON, and MENU for a few seconds), 121 subchannels (38 CTCSS and 83 DCS) , and 10 ringtones. The Retevis RT45 also has an LED flashlight and a 2.5mm headphone jack for connecting a headset.- Our tech review is based upon several days of testing with a twin RT45 unit, as well as with the RT27 model. At this time we're still working on the video review, which we will attach later.
